Terms and Conditions


1: Fees


1.1: Fees are payable by term (Performing Arts, Drama, Dance & Primary School After School Clubs) or per month (Musical Theatre). Term/Month will be referred to as ‘block’ in our terms and conditions.


1.2: The invoice must be cleared in advance of the new block starting.


1.3: Payment is not permitted on a session-by-session basis. 


1.4: Payment invoices are emailed at least one week before the current block finishes. 


1.5: Payment must be paid no later than the final session of the current block to secure a place.


1.6: For new starters taster trials are available. Payment must be paid in advance and once completed payment for the full block must be paid promptly. 


1.7: For upcoming productions payment for the block must be received in full. This also applies if a production is towards the start of a new block. If it is not received your son/daughter will not be able to attend either the production or rehearsals.


1.8: Payment of fees can be made via online bank transfer or via the Class4Kids system. When paying via bank transfer, our bank account details can be found via the Class4Kids checkout screen underneath 'Alternative Payment Methods' or by contacting us for details. 


1.9: If payment is late, a 10% late payment fee will be added.


1.10: Booking confirmations, invoices and e-receipts are issued via the Class4Kids system. Sometimes these may go to your junk/spam folder, so please double check.


1.11: Failure to make payment of your balance due (or towards it) by the date required may result in your child being removed from the class register without notice.


1.12: If sessions are missed, they will not be carried forward or refunded. 


1.13: Once payment has been received it is non-refundable. 


1.14: In the unlikely event that a class is cancelled, the class will be rescheduled. A refund will not be issued.


1.15: In the unlikely event that a class venue is closed temporarily, the class will be relocated to the nearest available venue. This may mean in another town close by. A refund will not be issued.


1.16: Existing students are automatically enrolled to the new upcoming block, unless the Parent/Guardian/Booker notifies us otherwise, in advance.


2: Uniform (excluding Primary School After School Clubs)


2.1: All participants must wear a black ACTC t-shirt and black trousers/leggings/jogging bottoms. Any other clothing is not permitted.


2.2: ACTC T-shirts and zip hoodies are available to order at class. 


2.3: Trainers, sneakers or pumps need to be worn for sessions. Any other footwear is not permitted. 


2.4: Hair must also be tied back and off the face.


3: Absence


3.1: Due to the nature of activities children and young people will be relied upon by others. If your son/daughter is going to be absent for a session please text, call or email to let us know. 


3.2: Sessions missed due to student absence will not be refunded or carried forward. 


3.3: If we are not aware of your son/daughter’s absence and they miss an important rehearsal they may lose their part in the performance piece.


4: Productions 


4.1: By attending our classes parents/carers consent to their son/daughter’s participation in all relevant Andrew Curphey Theatre Company Productions and Events. 


4.2: Parents/Carers are required to let us know in writing if their son/daughter is not taking part in a particular production/event.


5: Photography/Filming


5.1: Your son/daughter may be photographed or filmed from time to time during the activities for marketing and publicity material. Please let us know in writing or on the consent form if you do not wish for your son/daughter to be photographed/filmed.


6: Help & Support


6.1: Due to the nature of our activities, we will require help from parents/carers and extended family/friends. Please make us aware of any skills you can offer in relation to sessions and productions (set, costume, backstage support, hospitality, etc).


7: Online Provision 


7.1: If for any reason, beyond our control, we are unable to deliver our classes in an ACTC venue, we will replace face to face classes with a virtual provision that will be delivered via an online platform such as Zoom where available. A refund will not be issued.


8: Holiday Camps & Guest Workshops


8.1. Payment for holiday camps and guest workshops must be paid by the date stated at the time of booking. Payment can be made through the Class4Kids system or via online banking.


9: General Points 


9.1: We pride ourselves on how well behaved our students are both in class and during productions. Staff and students are always respectful of each other. If students aren’t able to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner parents will be informed, and they may be asked not to attend.


9.2: Students are obliged to take care of their own belongings whilst in class and at any of our performances. We can accept no responsibility for lost or damaged belongings.


9.3: Students participate at their own risk and parents/guardians are obliged to inform staff of any existing injuries or medical conditions. 


9.4: ACTC staff and volunteers are there to help, develop and teach in a supportive and fun environment.


9.5: If you have any questions, queries or concerns please ensure staff and volunteers are treated with respect. Your own conduct may affect your child’s place at class and in performances.


9.6: Parents/Carers are also responsible for dropping their children off on time and for picking them up promptly after class. 


9.7: Andrew Curphey Theatre Company reserves the right to make changes to the class fees, timetable, teaching staff and the terms and conditions at any given moment.


9.8: All staff have current DBS checks, and selected staff have basic First Aid training.
